At least one person was killed following a two-vehicle collision in Vermont Vista, Los Angeles, early Friday morning, July 5, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash happened at about 1:24 a.m. in the area of Vermont Avenue and 97th Street.

LAPD said that a vehicle was on its way out of the side of 97th Street going west when it slammed into another vehicle that was reportedly heading northbound on Vermont Avenue. The two vehicles involved may have been a sedan and a pickup truck.

A man was said to have died as a result of the crash, but it was not specified if he was a driver of one of the vehicles involved or a passenger. The name, age, and place of origin of the deceased were also undisclosed.

A news videographer who was on the scene said that a bicyclist may have been caught up in the vehicular accident and was killed. However, the authorities have yet to confirm this possible development in the case.
