A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Madera on Saturday night, August 10, 2024.
According to the Madera Police Department, the pedestrian vs. vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Gateway Drive and 9th Street.
Officers responded to the collision scene and found debris scattered across the intersection. Medical responders treated the victim for injuries. The victim’s name, gender, and extent of injuries sustained were not disclosed.
It is not immediately known if the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene.
Authorities have since confirmed that DUI was not a factor in the incident. Northbound traffic on Gateway Drive was temporarily closed north of 9th Street as the investigation ensued.
