A 55-year-old woman died after a collision involving a semi-truck on La Brucherie Road in El Centro on Wednesday morning, August 7, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of La Brucherie Road and Wahl Road.
The victim, a resident of El Centro, was driving a Nissan Rogue when she collided with a truck tractor operated by a 62-year-old man from Brawley.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred as both vehicles approached the intersection. The driver of the Nissan Rogue was rushed to Desert Regional Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
CHP has stated that impairment does not appear to be a factor in this tragic incident.
