A 52-year-old woman was killed after a suspected two-vehicle DUI crash involving a hit-and-run in Los Angeles late Saturday night, August 10, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the North Hollywood district along Vanowen Street near Vineland Avenue.
LAPD said that a 23-year-old man driving a white SUV rear-ended a car driven by a 52-year-old woman. When officers arrived, they found the victim’s car severely damaged, while the suspect’s SUV sustained major front-end damage. The woman, whose name was not provided yet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after the accident. It was later determined that he was driving under the influence at the time of the collision. He was then arrested for DUI and fleeing the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash.
