[08-09-2024] One Person Killed After Two-Vehicle Collision Near TurlockOne person was killed after a two-vehicle collision near Turlock on Friday morning, August 9, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic accident happened around 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of Harding Road and Golf Road.

CHP said a 2001 Honda, driven by an unidentified individual, was eastbound on Harding Avenue. The driver stopped at a stop sign at the intersection before accelerating into the path of a 2013 Chevrolet driven by a 19-year-old Turlock resident. The Chevrolet, traveling south on Golf Road, had the right of way and was not required to stop at the intersection.

The Chevrolet broadsided the Honda, causing both vehicles to continue moving south before coming to a stop. The driver of the Honda, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released.

No other injuries were reported at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
