[08-07-2024] Two People Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Head-On Collision Along Silverado TrailTwo people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle head-on collision in Napa County on Wednesday afternoon, August 7, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Silverado Trail at Shady Oaks Lane.

A 63-year-old woman from Washington, D.C., driving a 2012 Honda Accord northbound, collided with a 61-year-old Vacaville resident driving a 2022 Toyota Accord southbound. Both drivers sustained major injuries and were transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital for treatment.

Further information about the two drivers’ identity and current conditions was not disclosed. It is also still unclear if they were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.

The crash blocked the northbound lane on Silverado Trail. While the cause of the collision remains under investigation, officials have stated that alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.

No further details were released, and authorities are examining all the evidence found to determine the factors leading to the incident.
