One person was killed after a two-vehicle crash near Vallejo early Wednesday morning, August 7, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened on westbound Interstate 80 near the American Canyon Road off-ramp.

CHP officers were alerted to the accident in the early hours of Wednesday along I-80, where they found two overturned vehicles. The number of people involved was not disclosed, but it was confirmed that one person had died due to the incident. It is still unclear if the deceased was one of the drivers or a passenger.

Further details about the cause of the crash and the identities of those involved have not been released. 

The collision resulted in the closure of at least two westbound lanes of I-80 in the area.
