A pedestrian was killed following a multi-vehicle collision in Lynwood early Thursday morning, August 1, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly incident happened around 1:43 a.m. on the transition road from the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway and the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway.
Responders found the pedestrian lying along the slow lane of the freeway with the damaged vehicles. After being attended to by the medical crew, the still-unnamed pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. It is still unclear how the deceased became involved in the crash and what they were doing along the roadway before it.
The total number of vehicles involved and its occupants were not immediately known. There is also no word yet on whether anyone inside the crashed vehicles at the time of the accident was injured.

The connector road and parts of the 105 Freeway were closed for hours as the authorities cleared the crash site.
