A 33-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Long Beach on Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2024.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the deadly crash happened around 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of Seventh Street and Stanley Avenue.
Authorities stated that a woman, identified as 33-year-old Johnisha B. Long Beach, was struck by a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling eastbound on Seventh Street. Preliminary investigation showed that the victim was walking outside the crosswalk when the collision happened.
Johnisha B. was immediately transported to a hospital after the incident but was pronounced dead on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, due to her injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Jeep, described as a 50-year-old Long Beach resident, cooperated with the investigation.
It is unclear what caused the collision. The authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
