[07-25-2024] Napa County, CA – 28-Year-Old Cyclist Suffered Major Injuries After Being Struck By Hit-And-Run Vehicle in Carneros

A 28-year-old cyclist suffered major injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Carneros, Napa County, on Thursday night, July 25, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on the shoulder of Cuttings Wharf Road, north of Las Amigas Road. 

Authorities stated that the cyclist, identified as 28-year-old Zachary G. of Napa, was struck by a car while riding his electric unicycle. Shortly after the crash, Zachary G. lost control of his unicycle, causing it to overturn. 

The victim was transported to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle that hit the cyclist cooperated with the authorities. 

Details on how the collision occurred were not immediately available. It remains unclear whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role.

Further details regarding the crash have yet to be released by the investigators.
