[07-30-2024] Sacramento County, CA – At Least One Person Killed After Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Crash Along I-80

At least one person was killed after a pedestrian vs. vehicle crash in north Sacramento early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 2:35 a.m. on eastbound I-80 near the onramp for Northgate Boulevard. 

Authorities stated that a pedestrian was on the roadway when, for still-unknown reasons, they were hit by a vehicle. At least one person was found dead at the scene, but it remains unclear if anyone else was injured. 

The name, age, and gender of the deceased were not immediately available. It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim cooperated with the investigation. 

The responding officials are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. More information will be released once it becomes available.
