One rider was killed, and another was injured after a double motorcycle crash in San Diego County, on Sunday morning, July 28, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. on eastern San Diego County highlands in the Wynola area.
Authorities stated that a 66-year-old rider from La Mirada was traveling with a group of motorcyclists through the Wynola area when, for some reason, his eastbound 2020 Harley-Davidson Low Rider veered into a westbound lane and sideswiped an oncoming 2024 Chevrolet Silverado with a trailer.
The impact of the crash sent the rider tumbling on the roadway and came to rest under his motorcycle. He sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead while being sent to the hospital. His name was withheld pending the notification of his family.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old Mission Viejo man, one of the other motorcyclists, tried to avoid the downed man, causing his motorcycle to swerve and crash into the pickup truck. He suffered major injuries and was transported to Palomar Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the heavy, a 38-year-old San Diego man, and a passenger in the truck were uninjured. Additional details will be disclosed once they become available.
Police work is underway.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
