[07-23-2024] 75-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By DUI Vehicle on Sir Francis Drake BoulevardA 75-year-old female pedestrian was injured after being struck by a DUI vehicle in Marin County on Tuesday night, July 23, 2024. 

According to the responding officials, the crash happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

Authorities said the female pedestrian was walking to her apartment at the Bennett House residential care home when she was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The victim was transported to the hospital with fractures and a head injury. Her current condition remains undisclosed. 

Investigation showed that the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The suspect, identified as Edward B.,80, of Fairfax, was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of felony intoxicated driving. 

It is unclear if speeding was also a factor in the incident. The responding officers are still investigating the crash.
