[07-16-2024] Sacramento County, CA – Scooter Rider Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle on Calvine Road

A scooter rider was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Elk Grove on Tuesday afternoon, July 16, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. on the Calvine Road off-ramp from Highway 99. 

Authorities stated that a scooter rider, whose name, age, and gender were not immediately known, was attempting to make a turn onto Calvine Road when they were hit by a vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries. 

There is no word yet on the identity of the driver. As of this writing, it is unknown if drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role in the collision. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. More information will be released once it becomes available. 

Traffic delays were expected near the crash site.
