A driver was injured following a multi-vehicle DUI collision in Perris on Wednesday morning, July 10, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 7:00 a.m. on I-215 and SR-74.
Authorities stated that a Mitsubishi, driven by 34-year-old Rudolfo F. from Menifee, exited the southbound I-215 at an unknown speed. As he approached the stopped traffic, his vehicle collided with an idle Mazda 6, which was waiting for the light to change, and pushed it into a 2017 Ford F550 work truck.
The driver of the Mazda, whose name, age, and gender were not immediately known, suffered moderate injuries and was transported via ambulance to Riverside County Regional Medical Center. There is no word yet on their condition as of this writing.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver, identified as a 49-year-old Fontana man, was not injured and refused treatment.
CHP arrested Rudolfo F. on the scene and was taken to the Cois M. Byrd detention center for felony DUI charges, causing bodily injury.
The crash remains under investigation. No further information was released.
