At least one person was injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Sacramento on Tuesday afternoon, July 9, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic crash happened around 3:25 p.m. on westbound Highway 50 near Stockton Boulevard.

It is unclear how many vehicles or people were involved in the incident. CHP reported that at least one person was injured but did not provide any further information about that person’s identity. The severity of the injury sustained by the victim was also not disclosed.

The cause of the accident and the factors at play are still under investigation. Authorities are still examining all the evidence found on-scene to determine how the crash occurred and who was at fault.

Other motorists are warned of heavy traffic slowdowns on the highway’s westbound lanes approaching Exit 7.
