[07-05-2024] Riverside County, CA – One Person Killed, Two Others Injured Following Two-Vehicle Head-On Collision in Temecula

One person was killed, and two others were injured following a two-vehicle head-on collision in Temecula on Friday afternoon, July 5, 2024. 

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. near Rancho California Road and the Interstate 15 overpass. 

Authorities stated that a man, who was driving a Hyundai SUV, drove into the oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a vehicle. Due to the impact of the initial crash, the second vehicle was pushed into a third vehicle. 

The police identified the driver of the Hyundai as 50-year-old Glenmar S. of Menifee. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures. Meanwhile, two individuals from other vehicles were transported to the hospital with injuries. 

Drugs do not appear to have been a factor in the collision. It is unknown why the Hyundai crossed into the oncoming traffic. 

The crash remains under investigation.
