A man was killed, and ten others were injured following a boat crash in Long Beach on Wednesday evening, July 3, 2024.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash happened around 9:20 p.m. on 110 N. Marina Drive in Alamitos Bay.
Authorities stated that a 48-foot pleasure boat sank after it crashed into a jetty. A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. Ten individuals were injured, and three of them sustained critical injuries.
Several victims were said to be rescued from the water after the boat sank. None of the people involved were identified yet.
There is no word yet on the cause of the collision. The role of speeding and alcohol are being investigated as factors in the incident.
