[07-03-2024] Alameda County, CA – Woman Killed, Another Seriously Injured After Single-Vehicle Crash in Oakland

A woman was killed and another seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash in Oakland on Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2024. 

According to the responding officials, the collision happened around 12:51 p.m. at the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Harrison Street, a few blocks from Kaiser Hospital. 

Authorities stated that an unspecified vehicle with two women inside crashed into an Interstate 580 overpass support pillar. The passenger was declared dead at the scene, while the driver was transported to the hospital for immediate surgery. 

Additional details on the identities of the patients were not available at this time. It is unknown what caused the collision or if drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role. 

The crash remains under investigation. Further information will be released once it becomes available.
