Two people were injured following a vehicle vs. big rig collision in Corona on Friday afternoon, June 28, 2024.
According to the Corona Fire Department, the traffic crash happened at about 1:16 p.m. at the 23000 block of Temescal Canyon Road.
The incident involved an SUV with multiple occupants, including a small child, and a big rig. When authorities arrived, they found the SUV wedged into the big rig with the brunt of the crash damage to the front passenger side of the smaller vehicle.
Several people were reportedly trapped inside the vehicle. They were all extricated by the responding firefighters, with some of them even taking their belongings from the SUV. The exact number of people inside the SUV when the accident happened is still unknown.
Two occupants sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Other than them, no other injuries were reported from the people inside the vehicle. No word yet on the condition of the truck driver.
CHP is investigating the collision. The cause of the accident and who was responsible for it is still unknown.
