Three people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Kern County on Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 2024.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collision happened around 1:05 p.m. on Highway 58 near Broome Road.
Authorities stated that a Bakersfield police officer was driving to work in a patrol car when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle collided with two other vehicles. Details on how the collision occurred, as well as on the total number of people involved in the incident, were not disclosed.
Two people suffered minor injuries, and one person was transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no word yet on their current condition. Their names, ages, and genders were not immediately known as of this writing.
All lanes were clear on the freeway and both sides remained open for the motorists. Authorities advised the public to proceed with caution when passing by the crash site.
