According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 4:13 a.m. along northbound Business 80 near the on-ramp for Fulton Avenue.

CHP officers said that the driver of an unspecified vehicle lost control of their ride, causing it to collide with the right shoulder barrier of the highway. Moments later, the crashed vehicle was engulfed in flames, adding further hazard to the situation.

Two passengers, a man and a woman, reportedly exited the now-burning vehicle on their own power. They were then taken to a nearby hospital by the responding medical crew after sustaining major injuries, including burns. The identities of the two survivors weren’t disclosed.

The driver of the vehicle, on the other hand, suffered fatal injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene. Further details regarding the identity of the deceased, such as their name, age, and origin, were not immediately available.

It is still unclear why the driver suddenly lost control of their car while driving. The CHP is investigating the possible involvement of drugs or alcohol.
