Three people were injured following a multi-vehicle crash in Citrus Heights on Saturday afternoon, June 22, 2024.
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, the traffic incident happened at about 2:00 p.m. along Sunrise Boulevard, north of Twin Oaks Avenue.
Details on how the collision occurred remain unclear, but CHPD said multiple damaged vehicles and a street sign were found on the roadway.
Three people reportedly suffered minor to moderate injuries as a result of the vehicular accident. Only one was transported to a local hospital for further medical care, while the others were released after receiving on-scene treatment.
Southbound traffic on Sunrise Boulevard was diverted one block south of the crash site. As the authorities investigated, motorists were warned about heavy traffic delays around the area.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Additional information was not immediately available.
