A 20-year-old rider was killed following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in Nipinnawasee, Madera County, on Saturday afternoon, June 22, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 3:50 p.m. along Highway 49 and Hilltop Lane.
Authorities stated that a 20-year-old rider from Lemoore was riding his motorcycle on southbound Highway 29, just south of Hilltop Lane. Meanwhile, a 26-year-old driver of an RV was traveling northbound on the same freeway in a curve when the rider lost control of his motorcycle and sideswiped the RV.
Police said that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the vehicle was not injured. The cause of the collision is unknown, but alcohol and drugs did not appear to be the factors of the incident.
The authorities have yet to release additional details regarding the crash. Police work is underway.
