[06-20-2024] Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in SkylineA pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego on Thursday night, June 20, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the pedestrian vs. vehicle collision happened at about 8:34 p.m. on the 100 block of South Meadowbrook Drive in the Skyline neighborhood.

SDPD said that a 20-year-old man driving northbound on Meadowbrook Drive in a 2005 Lexus IS350, for some reason, hit a pedestrian crossing the street within the traffic lane.

The victim, whose name, age, and place of origin were not disclosed yet, suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash, particularly in his upper body area. Police described the victim’s injuries as life-threatening.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. As of now, police are ruling out alcohol intoxication as a possible factor.
