A pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a tractor-trailer in Moreno Valley on Tuesday morning, June 18, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly traffic crash happened just before 11:00 a.m. along the westbound Moreno Valley (60) Freeway near Pigeon Pass Road.
CHP said that the pedestrian, whose identity wasn’t yet disclosed, was struck in the No. 1 lane by a tractor-trailer. The circumstances behind the incident weren’t immediately clear.
The responding medical crew pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. What the deceased was doing at the time of the accident remains unclear. There is no word yet on whether or not the driver of the truck involved was injured.
The CHP closed all westbound lanes of Highway 60, except for the HOV lane, while they investigated and cleared the crash site. Other motorists are advised to stay out of the area as much as possible.
