Thirteen people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Escondido on Thursday afternoon, June 13, 2024.

According to the Escondido Police Department, the massive crash happened at about 2:00 p.m. at the Juniper Street and Second Avenue intersection.

EPD said that a vehicle careened toward a commercial structure near the intersection after getting involved in a separate two-vehicle crash. How the initial incident occurred and who was at fault are still unclear.

The responding medical crew later confirmed that thirteen people in total were transported to various hospitals after sustaining varying degrees but non-life-threatening injuries.

None of the injured individuals have been identified as of yet. It was not immediately known if the injured individuals were only from the commercial structure that was struck or solely from the two vehicles involved in the initial collision.
