According to the Fresno Police Department, the traffic incident occurred at Clinton Avenue and First Street intersection.

Police said that the 40-year-old woman was walking along the roadway when she was suddenly struck by a white sedan going in an unspecified direction. The victim was quickly transported to Community Regional Medical Center after sustaining major injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved, who is described only as a mother, was with her 5-year-old child inside the car when the crash happened. She remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. FPD has yet to confirm whether or not anyone from the vehicle was hurt in the incident.
