[06-07-2024] Male Cyclist Killed Following Suspected Bicycle Vs. Vehicle DUI Collision Along Clinton AvenueA male cyclist was killed following a suspected bicycle vs. vehicle DUI collision in Fresno late Friday night, June 7, 2024.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the fatal incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. along Clinton Avenue, near the on-ramp to Highway 99.

Upon arrival, police found the victim, only identified as a man in his 30s or 40s, lying on the roadway with major injuries. Responding paramedics administered life-saving measures before taking him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was declared dead shortly after.

An eastbound vehicle on Clinton Avenue reportedly struck the man while he was riding his bike. The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the authorities. No information has been provided about the driver’s identity or whether they were injured.

The cause of the deadly accident remains under investigation, but FPD suspects that alcohol may be involved.
