[05-31-2024] Four People Killed Following Two-Vehicle Head-On Collision on Bonds Flat Road Four people were killed following a two-vehicle head-on collision in Tuolumne County on Friday afternoon, May 31, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:09 p.m. on Bonds Flat Road. 

CHP said that the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by 56-year-old Michael K. of Stockton, was traveling northbound on Bonds Flat Road at approximately 100 mph. Meanwhile, a woman, identified as 33-year-old Janelle H., was driving in the opposite direction in a Toyota Highlander. 

The driver of a Chevrolet unlawfully passed another vehicle over the double yellow lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with the Highlander. Because of the truck’s high speed, both vehicles could not avoid each other. 

The driver of the Toyota and the three people in the pickup truck were pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police identified the two passengers in the pickup truck as 66-year-old Donna Y. of Modesto and 65-year-old Cindi S. 

Further information on the collision has yet to be released by the authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
