[05-27-2024] Cyclist Injured Following Bicycle Vs. Vehicle Collision on I-5 Near Walnut GroveA cyclist was injured following a bicycle vs. vehicle collision near Walnut Grove, Sacramento County, on Monday afternoon, May 27, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 12:59 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 near the offramp for Twin Cities Road. 

Authorities stated that a vehicle was exiting I-5 when it struck a cyclist who was crossing the off-ramp. The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to the nearest hospital for medical treatment. Details on the condition of the victim were not immediately available.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be the factors of the collision. 

Further information on the crash has yet to be released by the authorities.
