[05-23-2024] Two People Injured Following Rear-End Vehicle Collision on Business 80Two people were injured following a rear-end vehicle collision in Sacramento on Thursday morning, May 23, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:16 a.m. on Business 80, near the on-ramp for E Street. 

Authorities stated that a rear-end collision sent a vehicle into the center divide and then offroad headfirst into a tree. Two people were reportedly trapped, and the emergency personnel had to extract them. A woman and a man sustained injuries and were transported to the nearby hospital for immediate treatment. 

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision. Details on the identity of the injured parties remain undisclosed. 

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the cause of the crash.
