[05-21-2024] Two People Injured Following Single-Vehicle DUI Collision on Highway 108 Two people were injured following a single-vehicle DUI collision in Mi-Wuk Village, Tuolumne County, on Tuesday evening, May 21, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 6:20 p.m. west of Koinonia Court, near the U.S. Forest Service-Stanislaus National Forest ranger station in Mi-Wuk Village.

Authorities stated that a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 59-year-old Christopher S., was traveling eastbound on the highway, west of Koinonia Court when it crashed into a tree. The driver was reportedly driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. 

Police said that the driver and his passenger, identified as 65-year-old Linda B., suffered major injuries and were transported to Modesto medical centers. Christopher S. was then arrested for felony DUI and released back to hospital care. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact the authorities.
