[05-18-2024] Cyclist Injured Following Bicycle Vs. Vehicle Collision Along Micheltorena StreetA cyclist was injured following a bicycle vs. vehicle collision in downtown Santa Barbara on Saturday afternoon, May 18, 2024. 

According to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, the collision happened around 5:00 p.m. on Micheltorena and De la Vina streets. 

Authorities stated that the victim was found on the ground, suffering a likely broken leg. The cyclist, identified only as a man, was treated at the scene and then transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. His name, age, and details on his condition were not immediately available. 

Police said that the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. It is unknown what caused the collision. 

Further information regarding the crash has yet to be released by the authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
