A 23-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured following a hit-and-run crash in Ventura County on Monday afternoon, May 6, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcycle vs. vehicle incident happened at about 4:33 p.m. along Highway 1 near Emma Wood State Beach.
Upon arrival, officers found the 23-year-old rider from Oakview away from his motorcycle after reportedly getting hit by a sedan. The sedan’s driver then apparently drove away immediately without rendering aid or calling the authorities to report the accident.
The young motorcyclist, who remains unnamed, suffered major injuries as a result of the collision, including fractures to his right arm and legs, as well as a brain hemorrhage. He was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center to recover, where he remains in critical condition at the time of this writing.
Additional information was not immediately available. Authorities are still on the lookout for the hit-and-run driver.
