[03-31-2024] Woman Seriously Injured Following E-Bicycle vs. Vehicle Collision in TalmageA woman was seriously injured following an e-bicycle vs. vehicle collision in Talmage, Mendocino County, on Sunday afternoon, March 31, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. between Sanford Ranch Road and Talmage Road.

A male driver of a Cadillac Escalade was traveling westbound when a 20-year-old riding a Velotric bicycle entered the path of the vehicle. The driver veered left but failed to avoid the bicyclist.

The female cyclist from Ukiah suffered major injuries while the Cadillac driver stayed at the scene and contacted 911.

The authorities transported the 20-year-old victim to the Ukiah Municipal Airport, where she was airlifted to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Alcohol and drugs were dismissed as factors in the collision. Investigations are still underway.
