A female passenger was injured following a single-vehicle hit-and-run crash in Paso Robles on Thursday evening, March 28, 2024.
According to the Paso Robles Police Department, the incident occurred at around 6:43 p.m. in the area of Calle Chorro and Caballo Place.
Upon arrival, PRPD saw an unoccupied black SUV overturned on the roadway. Police searched the area and saw a woman hiding in a nearby bush who was found to be the passenger of the crashed vehicle, attempting to flee the scene. She was transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
The female passenger then told the police about her driver, who had successfully fled the collision site. She said that the driver was a Hispanic male who she believes was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.
No further details were released, and authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors leading to the incident. It is also still unclear why the pedestrian was trying to flee the scene.
The hit-and-run driver is still at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities immediately.
