[09-25-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Two Seriously Injured Following Plane Crash in San Pedro

A 45-year-old pilot and a female flight student in her 30s were seriously injured following a plane crash in San Pedro, Los Angeles, on Monday afternoon, September 25, 2023.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of the crash around 1:00 p.m. in the 400 block of Westmont Drive at the Field of Dreams park near the border of Wilmington.

Fire crews arrived at the scene with two bystanders extricating the female occupant. Shortly after, firefighters were able to extract the male pilot.

Both victims were in critical condition and were transported to a nearby hospital. No other injuries were reported in the incident.

An investigation will be conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration into the cause of the crash.
