[09-20-2023] Ventura County, CA – Pedestrian Died Following a Vehicle Crash in Port Hueneme

An unidentified pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in Port Hueneme on Wednesday night, September 20, 2023.

The Port Hueneme Police Department reported that the victim was struck at Park Avenue and North Ventura Road around 8:23 p.m.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers found that the 45-year-old driver was traveling northbound on Ventura Road when the crash occurred.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. According to authorities, speed and impairment did not contribute to the collision.
