[09-20-2023] Riverside County, CA – Pedestrian Severely Injured Following Hit-And-Run in Hemet

An unidentified man was found injured on the roadway after a hit-and-run crash in Hemet on early Wednesday morning, September 20, 2023.

The Hemet Police Department reported the crash occurred about 3:40 a.m. in the 600 block of North State Street, near Oakland Avenue.

The victim was transported to a regional trauma center with life-threatening injuries. No further details were released about his current condition.

Authorities stated that the victim was heading southbound when it was struck by a vehicle approaching at an unknown speed. The unknown driver promptly fled eastward from the scene.

Officers searched for evidence from residential and business security camera footage, but no further details were provided.
