[09-14-2023] Trinity County, CA – 28-Year-Old Pedestrian Hospitalized Following Hit-And-Run DUI Collision in Weaverville

A 28-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized following a hit-and-run collision in Weaverville, Trinity County, early Thursday afternoon, September 14, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 1:00 p.m. along Highway 299 and Ransom Road.

Authorities stated that the pedestrian was identified as Marissa P., an Antioch resident, struck by a blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by a 64-year-old named Denelle H.

The suspect fled the accident scene, leaving the Antioch resident with life-threatening injuries. The victim is presently reported to be brain-dead and is on life support as she is an organ donor.

Officials said the Chevrolet driver was spotted in a nearby Holiday Market and was arrested for driving under the influence and hit-and-run, causing injury to another.

The investigation into the collision continues.
