According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 15, under the Joshua Street overpass, at around 2:35 a.m.

CHP officers responded to reports of a traffic collision, and upon arrival at the scene, they found two pickup trucks and two sedans obstructing the roadway. Several yellow sand barrels were destroyed, scattering sand and other debris across the interstate.

Photographs of the accident reveal the significant damage sustained by the vehicles. The exact number of people who were possibly injured in the crash is not known at this time.
