[09-10-2023] San Diego County, CA – 58-Year-Old Tijuana Motorist Killed Following DUI Two-Vehicle Collision in San Ysidro

A 58-year-old Tijuana motorist was killed after a DUI two-vehicle collision in San Diego on Sunday morning, September 10, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Interstate 805, northbound on State Route 905, at around 5:30 a.m.

CHP officers reported that a 21-year-old Escondido man was driving under the influence and rear-ended a Honda SUV with his Volkswagen coupe.

Authorities have confirmed the victim’s death due to his injuries, but it remains uncertain whether he passed away at the location of the incident or later in a hospital.

The drunk driver sustained unspecified injuries and was taken to a local hospital. He was subsequently arrested on allegations of driving under the influence of alcohol.

No further information was released regarding the identities of the people involved.
