[09-04-2023] San Diego County, CA – 67-Year-Old Pedestrian Man Hospitalized Following Hit-and-Run Collision on University Avenue

A 67-year-old pedestrian man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision in San Diego on Monday evening, September 4, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred near the 5400 block of University Avenue at around 9:10 p.m.

SDPD officers stated that the man was walking across the westbound lanes when he was struck by a vehicle. The male driver assisted the pedestrian off the road and onto the curb before returning to his vehicle and leaving the scene.

Police located the victim with non-life-threatening injuries, and he was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the results of the investigation.
