A pedestrian man was hospitalized after a COASTER commuter train collision in Del Mar on Monday evening, September 4, 2023.
According to San Diego Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jason K., the incident occurred near the intersection of Via De La Valle and Camino Del Mar at around 9:00 p.m.
Authorities reported that a northbound commuter train hit a man near an intersection. SDSD officers located the man who sustained major injuries in the collision and transported him to a local hospital.
An investigation is underway to determine what caused the crash. No further information was released regarding the victim’s identity, pending the results of the investigation.
