[09-04-2023] One Person Killed, Another Hospitalized Following Suspected DUI Collision in RamonaOne person was killed, and another was hospitalized following a DUI collision in Ramona, San Diego County, early Monday morning, September 04, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 3:41 a.m. along State Route 67.

A male driver of a Volkswagen sedan went over the center line, and crashed head-on with a female driver of a Toyota sedan.

The Volkswagen driver was extricated from his vehicle and was declared dead at the scene. The Toyota driver was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The CHP found open containers inside the Volkswagen, which raised suspicions of drunk driving. The authorities have not released further information about the fatal collision.
