A pedestrian woman in her 50s was killed after an Amtrak train collision in Los Angeles on Friday evening, September 1, 2023.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred near 12099 Sherman Road just before 9:40 p.m.
Authorities stated that a Pacific Surfliner train traveling to San Diego hit the woman. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 116 passengers or train crew members were uninjured.
No information was released regarding the victim’s identity, pending the results of an investigation.
