A 22-year-old man was killed, and two others were injured in a wrong-way head-on collision on the Foothill (210) Freeway near Allen Avenue in Pasadena early Sunday morning, December 29, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:10 a.m. when the man, identified as Jeffrey R., drove a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro eastbound in the westbound HOV lane. The Camaro collided head-on with a 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Jeffrey R., a Los Angeles resident, succumbed to blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 44-year-old Burbank man driving the pickup truck sustained a possible left wrist fracture and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A 50-year-old Burbank woman in the passenger seat complained of neck and back pain, the CHP reported.
The incident remains under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
