[12-28-2025] Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Two-Vehicle Crash on Clear Creek Road in ReddingA driver was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash on Clear Creek Road just west of Highway 273 in south Redding on Sunday evening, December 28, 2025.

According to the Redding Police Department, the crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. when a 49-year-old man driving an Infiniti westbound attempted to make a left turn into a closed business driveway and collided with an eastbound Ram pickup truck. Authorities said both drivers suffered major injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Police identified the Infiniti driver as Hom L., 49 years old. At the hospital, a Redding Police Department Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Hom and determined he was under the influence of narcotics. He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and later booked into the Shasta County Jail.

The crash remains under investigation.
