Two passengers were killed, and two others were injured in a solo vehicle accident on SR-190 near Saline Valley Road in the Darwin area of Inyo County on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around noon when a 26-year-old male driver of a 2025 Jeep Wrangler was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed while transporting three passengers. The driver and one passenger sustained major injuries, while two other passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was arrested in connection with the crash. Authorities did not immediately release further details about the crash or the identities of the individuals involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
